Monster Truckers Update 4: The Campaign is Over! What's Next?

Monster Truckers has reached the finish line and funded! First of all, a huge, monster sized thank you goes out to everyone who supported the campaign. And another shout out to everyone who shared it. Your support means everything to an indie designer like me.

While we didn't get all the stretch goals, we did get the CB mic handset prop, which was one of the first things I realized that I needed when I first came up with an idea for a game involving semi trucks. (It also means that with it unlocked, it'll be available as an add-on during the survey phase if you want an extra or three.) 

What's Next?

The next phase of the campaign involves getting back to work on Monster Truckers. I need to finish up the writing, play test it more, make any adjustments, and then put it into layout. At the same time I'm going to be working with artists to provide additional art for the book. 

Survey

If you're new to crowdfunding, you'll get a survey in the future asking for important info like your email and address, along with some other details needed to fulfill your rewards, and you pay for shipping at that time if you are due for a physical reward. It takes time to correctly set up the survey And I can't send it out until we get a better idea of when the book ships, so we get the most accurate and up to date shipping prices. So, in the future you'll get a survey requesting info we need to fulfill your rewards and that's when you pay for shipping. I'll send a heads up before it goes out, so there's no surprises. 

Timeline

Right now there's no solid release timeline. I need a little bit of time to get organized, start commissioning art, and finish the writing. As things progress and start falling into place and I get a good handle on all of it, I'll be able to share estimated dates.

Updates

Expect campaign updates when we have some good stuff to share: Remember, no news is GOOD news. I don't want to bother you when I have nothing huge to share. If you really want to keep on top of the project and all my ramblings, I'll be talking about it more in the follow places: Bluesky, Threads, Table Cat Games Discord, or even the Table Cat Newsletter (sign up on the home page). 

To Sum It Up: I'm going to be hard at work making an awesome game for you and setting things up to make it easy to fulfill it.

As an indie creator I know how hard it is to get the word out above projects, so I'd like to share the spotlight a little bit with another project from time to time. So here's a few cool ones running right now:


Galactic & Going Rogue

Galactic & Going Rogue is on Kickstarter right now and it is very cool. As a big fan of Star Wars, this is very appealing. It’s a different way to tell a Star Wars type story with rules that incorporate more of a dramatic roleplaying element than just crunching numbers. Here’s a bit from their Kickstarter:

Hellwhalers: Book of Leviathan 

We really dug Hellwhalers by Moss Powers, and their expansion Book of Leviathan is launching soon on Backerkit:

"An incredible expansion to the original TTRPG of nautical and Christian-religious horror, HELLWHALERS, coming to print!

HELLWHALERS: Book of Leviathan plummets us back into the pitch black waters of the Stygian Sea, where we'll once again seek redemption for our crew. One more roll of the dice. One more whale on the horizon. One more shot at saving our immortal souls.."

Moss is super talented and the original Hellwhalers rules, so I have no double that this expansion is going to be awesome.



Terra Aspira

If you're a fan of fantasy ttrpgs, you might want to check out Terra Aspira. It's from our pal Anthony at Epic Blunders. From the Kickstarter description: 

Bland descriptions. Boring places. Out-of-context scenes. Too often, as worldbuilders, we forget that every environment we create for our characters to explore is vast, vibrant, and dynamic. There is so much going on at any given moment in the spaces we design, and far too little thought that goes into them.
The Terra Aspira project wants to change that.

Monster Truckers Update 3: We've Funded!

Thanks to the generous support of super cool people like you Monster Truckers has funded. Thank you so much, you rock. We can all slap each other on the backs and drink a cold blood brew in celebration.

At the time of writing this we have 30 hours left. That means we have 30 hours to unlock a stretch goal or three, so please continue to share and recommend Monster Truckers if you can!

Expect another notice when funding ends with a wrap up of what goals were unlocked and the next steps! Until then, keep on rocking Monster Truckers!

Monster Truckers Update 2: We're Halfway to the End!

Greetings Monster Truckers!

The campaign is at it's halfway point, so we're almost to the end. The good news is we're still trending in the right direction at currently nearly 60% of the goal. But we must not rest! We've got cargo to deliver! So if you can, please share this project with anyone you know who might want in. That includes your local friendly game store, let them know we have a retailer tier that comes with plugs!

Besides going into overdrive plugging the campaign, I've been writing a new Monster Truckers adventure and continuing to test the game. We had a blast last night and I added some more content that came out of it. I can't wait to keep playing and also for the game to be done so you can join in on the fun.

Monster Truckers Update 1: Funding Progress and a New Add-On

Greetings Monsters!

The Monster Truckers campaign is trucking along and now that it's been a week since launch, we're deep into the long haul stretch of the campaign. We're on track for funding, but we can't be complacent. Complacent isn't even in our vocabulary! If you haven't already, please consider getting on the CB and telling everyone you know about Monster Truckers. 
 

New Add-On

We're excited to announce that due to popular demand, we've added a very limited add-on to create a Monster Trucker character. Name your character, give us some details, and we'll fit them into the right into the world of Monster Truckers. They can be a sassy server at a diner, a gruff dispatcher, a mysterious drifter, even an enemy to the Monster Truckers! 

So if you want add some creative flair to Monster Truckers, simply go to the add-ons and add it on! There's only five total slots available, so get it before it's gone. Please note: The custom character does not include custom art.

We're busy writing notes for a new Monster Truckers adventure that is slotted to go into the book (if it survives play testing, and it likely will, it's got a really fun premise). I can't wait to get it to the table and try it out.  

We've also got a few other things in the works that we can't really talk about right now, but when they become more solid we'll be shouting about them.
